1. We are reflective and self-directed
learners.
We take charge of our own education and empower
ourselves to explore our own minds and the world with enthusiasm,
passion, and creativity. We keep our learning interesting by asking
engaging questions our ourselves and others. We work to manifest
quality and are willing to revise our work until we have achieved
our best.
2. We live in respectful community
with others and the natural world.
As members of a respectful community, we practice
non-violence. We encourage cooperation and help create spaces
where others feel safe and can express themselves freely. Our
community-mindedness extends beyond humanity and causes us to
realize that we live in a natural world that we depend upon and
that depends upon us.
3. We are growth-oriented.
We value the whole person: body, mind and spirit.
We know that we are constantly growing and changing and have the
power to direct our own journey. Therefore, we create our future
with intention, using our ability to set, revise and meet our
goals. On our journey, we celebrate our achievements and and see
our mistakes not as failures, but as learning opportunities.
4. We are responsible leaders.
Responsible leaders strive for justice--not just
convenience—and do the right thing even when it is tough.
We realize that through our actions we influence others--therefore,
we know it’s our responsibility to guide others by example.
Every day we make choices for which we must consider the immediate
and long-term effects of our actions.
